What We've Been Doing

Summer is a time of action in our house. Vacation, birthdays and projects.

With the natural rise and fall of temperatures, the season for introspection and sharing turns to doing

Which isn't to say this month hasn't been a roller coaster of all the feels, just that I'm not through processing them enough to talk about them - and I'd rather paint a wall.

Sweet Baby's fourth birthday is this Thursday, and Saturday marks the fourth anniversary of meeting her and bringing her home from the hospital.  We haven't seen her in a year. I don't know if we will again.

We need all the prayers this week. All of them.

Here's what I've been doing as I try not to dwell on this week:

Working on a new backsplash with self adhesive vinyl tiles.

It's finished, but they don't seem to be adhering very well, so the jury's still out.

This could turn into the story of why I had to re-plaster this wall.

Meanwhile, enjoy this shot of the finished product, complete with stuff all over the place.

See that little beauty in the picture right there?  It's a countertop dishwasher. I'm in love. It's a serious relationship.

The reviews said, "why didn't I do this sooner!?!"  Seriously....do it sooner than I did. Game changer not washing all the dishes, and it takes about the same amount of space as the drying racks did, so win!

Hanging out with this pretty while her big sis does summer sport camps.

Celebrating this girl turning 10!

Working. A. Lot.

Drawing/painting St Elizabeth of Hungary dolls for a swap.

Watching the girls make stuff.

Stopping to wonder at the pretty.

Crafting - I have a goal to have a shop opening this fall - funds earmarked for family expansion - house - NaPro - adoption - we'll see where God leads us.

A family reunion.

Not washing dishes.

Canning enough strawberry jam to make it until next spring.

Watching summer pass me by much too quickly - especially when I walk by this! Too soon!
